Climate change and the environment continues to be voted by young people of Hampshire as top topic of concern. September saw the delivery of the 3rd Hampshire Climate Conference in partnership with Winchester College. Supported by the Final Straw Foundation, Hampshire & IOW Wildlife Trust (HIWWT), Wessex Rivers, Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE), Dorset Wildlife Trust, Butterfly Conservation, Environment Agency, Cameron Bespolka Trust and Southampton Friends of the Earth.

Students from across Hampshire schools came together to support their understanding of the causes and impacts of climate change and the importance of sustainability. Learning about the issues facing the environment and what is being done and what they can do to protect our environment, with take away actions to implement at home and in their school or college.
There were a variety of interactive workshops, linked to KS2, KS3 & 4 science, geography, and careers curriculum.

Over 25,000 young people across Hampshire voted in this year's consultation. The young people of Hampshire voted Climate Change and the Environment as their top issue for 2024 which has been the top issue for Hampshire since 2019.
